## Biography

Basil Keane was a Jamaican actor. He played the Preacher in the 1972 film *The Harder They Come*, directed by Perry Henzell.

He also appeared in *The Marijuana Affair* (1975) and as Colonel Sinclair in *Countryman* (1982). A graduate of Howard University, Keane worked as a dentist and politician; he served as a councillor for the Jamaica Labour Party. He died in 1993.
