## Biography

Ben Best was an American actor and writer. He attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, alongside collaborators Danny McBride, Jody Hill and David Gordon Green.

Best co-created the HBO comedy series *Eastbound & Down* (2009–2013) with McBride and Hill, and appeared in eight episodes as Clegg, a local bartender. He co-wrote and co-starred in the film *The Foot Fist Way* (2006), and co-wrote *Your Highness* (2011). His acting credits include *Superbad* (2007), *What Happens in Vegas* (2008), *Observe and Report* (2009) and *Land of the Lost* (2009).

Best died on 10 September 2021.
