## Biography

Ben Cottam is a British writer and former comedian. He began his career performing comedy and working in television production at the BBC before moving into writing.

Cottam wrote episodes of the animated series *The Amazing World of Gumball* (2011). He is best known for creating and writing the BBC Radio 4 sitcom *Plum House*, which ran for several series and starred Simon Callow and Jane Horrocks. His other work includes episodes of the podcast *Wooden Overcoats*, the medical drama *The Latvian Locum*, and various radio adaptations and documentaries for BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4.
