## Biography

Ben F. Reynolds was an American cinematographer. Born in Michigan on 21 July 1890, he entered the film industry around 1914 after photographic training and worked at Universal Studios, progressing from assistant roles to director of photography. His early credits include several John Ford westerns.

Reynolds is best known for his work with director Erich von Stroheim on silent-era films, serving as cinematographer on *Foolish Wives* (1922) and as principal cinematographer on *Greed* (1924), where he handled demanding location shooting. He continued working into the 1930s on features such as *Vengeance* (1930) and *Menace* (1934).

Reynolds died in Los Angeles on 14 February 1948.
