Ben Piazza was an American actor whose career spanned stage, film and television. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, he studied at Princeton University, where he made his stage debut in 1952, and later trained at the Actors Studio. He appeared on Broadway in productions including *Kataki* (1959), for which he received a Theatre World Award.

Piazza made his film debut in *A Dangerous Age* (1957) and *The Hanging Tree* (1959). His screen roles include Bob Whitewood in *The Bad News Bears* (1976), a father in *The Blues Brothers* (1980), Mr. Simms in *Mask* (1985), and Darryl Zanuck in *Guilty by Suspicion* (1991). He also appeared in numerous television series such as *The A-Team*, *Moonlighting*, *Dallas* and *Family Ties*.

Piazza was married to actress Dolores Dorn from 1967 to 1979. He died in Sherman Oaks, California, in 1991.
