## Biography

Ben Richardson is an English cinematographer, television producer and director. He studied media arts at Royal Holloway, University of London. He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the British Society of Cinematographers.

Richardson shot *Beasts of the Southern Wild* (2012) after initially being hired for miniature photography; the film premiered at Sundance, where he won the Excellence in Cinematography award. His other credits as director of photography include *The Fault in Our Stars* (2014), *Wind River* (2017), *Mare of Easttown* (2021) and *1883* (2021). He has also directed episodes of *Tulsa King* (2022).

Three of his films have premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. *Mare of Easttown* earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
