## Biography

Benedict Bogeaus (4 May 1904 – 23 August 1968) was an American independent film producer and former owner of General Service Studios. Born in Chicago, he worked in property development and manufacturing before entering film production. He acquired the General Service studio complex in Hollywood in the early 1940s and established Benedict Bogeaus Productions in 1944.

His early productions included *The Bridge of San Luis Rey* (1944) and *Dark Waters* (1944). He later collaborated with director Allan Dwan on a series of films released through RKO, among them *Silver Lode* (1954), *Passion* (1954) and *Cattle Queen of Montana* (1955). His final credits were *From the Earth to the Moon* (1958) and *Most Dangerous Man Alive* (1961).
