## Biography

Benedict Spence is a British cinematographer and director of photography. He began his career in factual entertainment in the early 2000s, working on programmes for the BBC, MTV and Sky, before moving into drama and commercials.

Spence has shot a number of television series, including *Witless*, *In My Skin* (2018–2020), *The End of the F***ing World* (2019) and *This Is Going to Hurt* (2022). He has collaborated repeatedly with director Lucy Forbes. In 2024 he was cinematographer on the Netflix series *Eric*.

He received an Emmy nomination for his work on *The End of the F***ing World*. Spence joined the British Society of Cinematographers in 2023 and has won RTS and BSC awards for *Eric*.
