## Biography

Benoît Delhomme is a French cinematographer and film director. He graduated from the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière in 1982 and worked as an assistant cameraman on *Jean de Florette* and *Manon des Sources* (both 1986) before becoming a director of photography on feature films in the early 1990s.

His credits include *The Scent of Green Papaya* (1993), *The Proposition* (2005), *The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas* (2008), *One Day* (2011), *Lawless* (2012), *A Most Wanted Man* (2014), *The Theory of Everything* (2014), *Free State of Jones* (2016), *At Eternity's Gate* (2018) and *Mothers' Instinct* (2024). He was nominated for the César Award for Best Cinematography for *Artemisia* (1997) and received the Special Jury Prize at the Chicago International Film Festival for *What Time Is It There?* (2001) and the AFI Award for Best Cinematography for *The Proposition* (2005). In 2024 he made his directorial debut with *Mothers' Instinct*.
