## Biography

Bent Mejding (14 January 1937 – 12 November 2024) was a Danish actor, stage director and theatre manager. He made his stage debut at Folketeatret in Copenhagen in the late 1950s and later performed at Det Ny Teater. In 1961 he founded Ungdommens Teater, which was based at Frederiksberg-Scenen from 1964, and he co-managed Det Ny Teater from 1992 to 1997.

Mejding appeared in numerous films and television series. His television roles include Jørgen Varnæs in *Matador* (1978–1982) and Poul Bremer in *The Killing* (2007). Film credits include Svend Viltorft in *Reptilicus* (1961), Reverend Wredmann in *Italian for Beginners* (2000), Henning in *Brothers* (2004) and J. H. E. von Bernstorff in *A Royal Affair* (2012). He received Robert Awards for best supporting actor in 1985 and 2007.

He was married to actress Susse Wold from 1983 until his death.
