## Biography

Bert Haines (1896–1991) was an American cinematographer. He was born Herbert Marcus Haines in Dayton, Ohio, and died in Los Angeles, California.

He worked as director of photography on several Buster Keaton silent feature films of the mid-1920s, including *Go West* (1925), *Battling Butler* (1926), *The General* (1926, co-credited with Devereaux Jennings), *College* (1927, co-credited with Devereaux Jennings) and *Steamboat Bill, Jr.* (1928).
