Bert Hanlon (1890–1972) was an American actor, writer and songwriter. He appeared in dozens of films from the early 1930s to the early 1950s, often in small or uncredited roles. These included Jake in *Me and My Gal* (1932), Pat in *The Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse* (1938), Sad Sam in *A Slight Case of Murder* (1938), the pianist in *The Roaring Twenties* (1939), a clerk in *Gentleman Jim* (1942), an editor in *All the King's Men* (1949) and the cigar man in *Force of Evil* (1949).

Educated at the City College of New York, Hanlon performed in vaudeville and Broadway musicals before working in films. He also wrote special material and served as a dialogue director, and composed popular songs including 'M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I'.
