She appeared in more than sixty films between 1933 and 1983. Drews is known for her role as Anna Koljaiczek in *The Tin Drum* (1979). Other film credits include Frau Schrott in *It Happened in Broad Daylight* (1958) and Mutter Völker in *Our Flags Lead Us Forward* (1933). She was married to actor Heinrich George and was the mother of actor Götz George.
