Beth Macy is an American journalist, non-fiction author and screenwriter. She worked as a reporter for *The Roanoke Times* in Virginia from 1989 until 2014, after studying journalism at Bowling Green State University and earning an MFA from Hollins University.

Macy is the author of several books, including *Factory Man* (2014) and *Truevine* (2016). Her 2018 book *Dopesick: Dealers, Doctors, and the Drug Company that Addicted America* was adapted into an eight-part Hulu miniseries in 2021, for which she served as writer and executive producer.
