Betta St. John (born Betty Jean Striegler) was an American actress, singer and dancer. She was born on 26 November 1929 in Hawthorne, California, and died on 23 June 2023 in Brighton, England. She began her career as a child performer in uncredited film roles, including in *Destry Rides Again* (1939) and *Jane Eyre* (1943). On Broadway she created the role of Liat in the original production of *South Pacific* (1949) and appeared in *Carousel*.

Her film work included the role of Miriam in *The Robe* (1953), Tarji in *Dream Wife* (1953) and Patricia Russell in *The City of the Dead* (1960). After marrying British actor and singer Peter Grant in 1952, she appeared in British productions such as *High Tide at Noon* (1957), two Tarzan films and *Corridors of Blood* (1958). She retired from acting in the mid-1960s.
