## Biography

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, also known as Osho and born Chandra Mohan Jain, was an Indian spiritual leader and founder of the Rajneesh movement. He was born on 11 December 1931 in Kuchwada, Madhya Pradesh, and died on 19 January 1990 in Pune.

Rajneesh established ashrams in India before moving with followers to Oregon in the United States in 1981, where they created the community of Rajneeshpuram. The movement attracted international attention and controversy. He appears in archive footage as Self in the 2018 Netflix documentary series *Wild Wild Country*.
