## Biography

Bibi Besch (born Bibiana Maria Köchert) was an Austrian-American actress who worked in film, television and stage. She was born in Vienna on 1 February 1942 and died in Los Angeles on 7 September 1996.

She appeared in numerous television productions and films. Her credits include Dr Carol Marcus in *Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan* (1982), Belle Marmillion in *Steel Magnolias* (1989) and Megan in *Tremors* (1990). She received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

Besch was the daughter of actress Gusti Huber and racing driver Gotfrid Köchert. Her daughter, Samantha Mathis, is also an actress.
