## Biography

Bibi Lindström (30 June 1904 – 4 November 1984) was a Swedish production designer and art director. She began working in film in 1932 and contributed to more than 150 productions over a 40-year career, initially at Europafilm and later at Sandrew-ateljén.

She designed sets for several Ingmar Bergman films, including *Sawdust and Tinsel* (1953), *Brink of Life* (1958) and *Persona* (1966). Other notable credits include *Miss Julie* (1951) for Alf Sjöberg and a number of Arne Mattsson’s Hillman thrillers. Lindström also worked in theatre and on exhibitions, and directed the short documentary *En Stockholmssilhuett* (1943). She is regarded as a pioneer of the film architect or scenographer role in Swedish cinema.
