## Biography

Bijan Sheibani is a British theatre director and writer. He studied English literature at St Hugh's College, Oxford, and holds an MA in advanced theatre practice from the Central School of Speech and Drama. He was artistic director of Actors Touring Company from 2007 to 2010 and an associate director at the National Theatre from 2010 to 2015.

His theatre directing credits include *Barber Shop Chronicles* (2017), *A Taste of Honey* (2014) and *Our Class* (2009) at the National Theatre. He wrote three episodes of the Netflix series *One Day* (2024). His debut play *The Arrival* premiered at the Bush Theatre in 2019, followed by *The Cord* in 2024.

Sheibani has received Olivier Award nominations for Best Director and for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre, and won the latter for *Gone Too Far!* (2008).
