## Biography

Bill Anderson is a British television director. He began his career as a writer in the 1980s and 1990s before moving into directing, with early credits including the single drama *Dockers* (1999) and episodes of *The Lakes* and *Silent Witness*.

Anderson has directed episodes of numerous British series, including *Spooks* (2004), *Lewis* (2006–2010), *DCI Banks* (2011), *Case Histories* (2011), *Inspector George Gently* (2014), *The Mill* (2014) and *Mr Selfridge* (2016). In 2017 he directed two episodes of *Doctor Who*: *Thin Ice* and *Knock Knock*. He has also directed telefilms such as *Sword of Honour* (2001) and *Boudica* (2003).

*Dockers* earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Single Drama.
