## Biography

Bill Bambridge (born William Moari'imaiterai Bambridge) was a French Polynesian actor and assistant director. Born on 18 August 1892 in Papeete, Tahiti, he worked on F. W. Murnau's *Tabu: A Story of the South Seas* (1931), appearing as the policeman (credited as Jean) and serving as assistant director alongside David Flaherty.

He later played Hitihiti in the 1935 MGM production of *Mutiny on the Bounty*. Bambridge died on 12 January 1950 in Papeete.
