## Biography

Bill D'Elia is an American television director, producer and screenwriter. He grew up in Queens, New York, graduated from Ithaca College and earned a master's degree in communication arts from William Paterson University.

He began his career directing television commercials in the 1980s and made his feature debut with the 1989 film *The Feud*, which he also wrote and produced. D'Elia has directed episodes of numerous series including *The West Wing* (three episodes, 1999–2004), *Boston Legal*, *Ally McBeal*, *The Practice*, *Chicago Hope*, *Glee*, *Grey's Anatomy*, *How to Get Away with Murder* and *The Good Doctor*. He co-created the series *Judging Amy* (1999) and has frequently collaborated with David E. Kelley.

D'Elia has received multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, a Peabody Award and a Directors Guild of America nomination.
