## Biography

William Kroyer is an American director of animation and computer graphics. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on 25 November 1950, he began his career in animation in the mid-1970s and worked as an animator on Disney's *The Fox and the Hound* (1981). He contributed to the CGI sequences in *Tron* (1982) alongside Jerry Rees.

In 1986, Kroyer and his wife Susan founded Kroyer Films, which produced the Oscar-nominated short *Technological Threat* (1988). He directed the feature *FernGully: The Last Rainforest* (1992) and later worked as senior animation director at Rhythm & Hues Studios. From 2009 to 2021 he headed the Digital Arts department at Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, where he is now Professor Emeritus. In 2017 he and his wife received the June Foray Award.
