Bill Shapter is a British film editor and producer. He began his career as a cameraman in 1965 and joined the BBC cutting rooms at Ealing Studios in 1968, working in post-production there until 1978. He later worked freelance as an editor on feature films and television before returning to production roles.

Shapter's producing credits include *The Turnaround* (1995), *Beautiful Thing* (1996, co-produced with Tony Garnett), *Ultraviolet* (1998) and associate producer on *Imagine Me & You* (2005). His editing work includes *Prostitute* (1980), *Memoirs of a Survivor* (1981), *Deep in the Heart* (1983) and *Hôtel du Paradis* (1986).
