## Biography

Bill Steinkellner is an American screenwriter and producer. Born on 5 February 1949, he has worked extensively in television since the early 1980s.

He is best known for his contributions to the sitcom *Cheers* (1982), on which he served as a writer and later as producer and executive producer. With his wife Cheri Steinkellner, he co-created the series *Bob* (1992) and worked on the animated series and film *Teacher's Pet* (2000–2004). The couple also wrote the book for the musical *Sister Act*, which received a Tony Award nomination.

Steinkellner has received two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on *Cheers*.
