Billy Hartman is a Scottish actor born in Edinburgh in 1957. He played Dugal MacLeod in the 1986 film *Highlander* and appeared as Frank in *Slaughter High* the same year.

Hartman is best known for portraying Terry Woods in the ITV soap opera *Emmerdale* from 1995 to 2011. He has taken guest roles in series including *Inspector Morse*, *A Touch of Frost* and *Casualty*. With Emmerdale co-stars, he was a member of the country rock trio The Woolpackers, who had a UK hit single in 1996. His stage work includes the original West End production of *The Hired Man* and the 2015 London revival of *Gypsy*.
