## Biography

Billy Joel, also credited as William Martin Joel, is an American musician, singer-songwriter and composer. He voiced the character Dodger in the 1988 animated film *Oliver & Company* and has appeared as himself in television series including *Mad About You* (1992) and *Kevin Can Wait* (2016).

Born in New York City, Joel began his solo recording career in the 1970s. His work includes twelve studio albums released between 1971 and 1993, with a further studio album in 2001. Archive recordings of his voice feature in the 2023 short *Once Upon a Studio* and the 2024 documentary *The Greatest Night in Pop*.
