## Biography

Blasco Giurato (7 June 1941 – 26 December 2022) was an Italian cinematographer. Born in Rome, he worked as a camera operator on several early films before becoming a director of photography.

He is known for his collaborations with director Giuseppe Tornatore, including *Cinema Paradiso* (1988), for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Cinematography, *Everybody's Fine* (1990) and *A Pure Formality* (1994). He won the Globo d'oro for Best Cinematography for the latter in 1993 and was nominated for the David di Donatello for *The Game Bag* (1997).

Giurato was the brother of journalist Luca Giurato and singer-songwriter Flavio Giurato.
