## Biography

Bleuette Bernon, born Léontine Ernestine Gauché, was a French actress and singer. She appeared in several early films directed by Georges Méliès between 1899 and 1910, including *Cinderella* (1899) as the fairy godmother, *Joan of Arc* (1900), *Bluebeard* (1901) as the fairy, *A Trip to the Moon* (1902) as Phoebe, and *The Kingdom of the Fairies* (1903) as Aurora.

She began her career as a cabaret performer in Paris before working with Méliès. Bernon was the mother of actress Marianne Cantrelle and grandmother of actress Jacqueline Cantrelle.
