Blythe Danner is an American actress. Born on 3 February 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she graduated from Bard College and began her career in theatre. She won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her Broadway performance in *Butterflies Are Free* (1969–1972).

Danner has worked extensively in film and television. She appeared in three films directed by Woody Allen: *Another Woman* (1988), *Alice* (1990) and *Husbands and Wives* (1992), playing Rain's mother in the last. She is known for portraying Dina Byrnes in the *Meet the Parents* series (2000–2010) and for two Primetime Emmy Awards for her role in the series *Huff* (2004–2006).

She is the mother of actress Gwyneth Paltrow and director Jake Paltrow.
