## Biography

Bo Harwood (1946–2022) was an American composer, sound mixer and music supervisor. Born in Los Angeles, he began his career as lead singer and guitarist in a southern California rock band in the mid-1960s and scored his first feature, *The Bach Train*, in 1969.

He collaborated extensively with director John Cassavetes, composing music and handling sound on *A Woman Under the Influence* (1974), *The Killing of a Chinese Bookie* (1976), *Opening Night* (1977) and *Love Streams* (1984). His other film credits include composing for *Happy Birthday to Me* (1981) and sound mixing on *Terror Train* (1980). In television he worked as a sound mixer on series including *Pee-wee's Playhouse*, *My So-Called Life*, *Felicity*, *Six Feet Under* and *Entourage*.

Harwood received a Genie Award for Best Original Song in 1984 for *Ups and Downs* and won an Emmy for sound mixing. He died on 1 September 2022.
