## Biography

Bob Brush is an American writer, producer and composer. He began his career composing music after graduating from Yale, where he was Pitchpipe of the Whiffenpoofs. In the 1970s he wrote scripts and composed songs for Sesame Street and Captain Kangaroo, and in 1981 he composed the score for the Broadway musical The First.

Brush is best known for his work on the ABC series The Wonder Years (1988–1993), on which he served as executive producer, writer and showrunner for over 100 episodes. He received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, a Peabody Award and multiple Humanitas Awards for the series. He was also an executive producer and writer on the CBS series Early Edition (1996–2000), and contributed to Growing Pains (1985), The Facts of Life (1979), Ed (2000) and Karen Sisco (2003). In 2022 he published the novel The Piazza: Stories from Piazza Santa Caterina Piccola.
