## Biography

Bob LaHendro is an American television director. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on 9 February 1935, he began his career in 1966 as a stage manager on the variety series *The Red Skelton Show*. He later worked as an associate director on *The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour* and joined the production of *All in the Family* in that role from 1971.

LaHendro made his directorial debut on *Sanford and Son* in 1972. He went on to direct numerous episodes of *All in the Family* (1972–1974), *Welcome Back, Kotter* (1975–1977), *Good Times*, *That's My Mama*, *Hot l Baltimore*, *Archie Bunker's Place*, *Flo* and *Fish*. He also directed episodes of the soap opera *Santa Barbara*.

In 1973 LaHendro received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on *All in the Family*, shared with John Rich. He had earlier been part of the Directors Guild of America award-winning team for the series as an associate director.
