## Biography

Bobbe Brox (born Josephine Brock) was an American actress and singer, best known as a member of the Brox Sisters vocal trio with her sisters Lorayne and Patricia.

The sisters began performing in vaudeville and achieved success on Broadway in Irving Berlin's *Music Box Revue* (1921–1924), the *Ziegfeld Follies of 1927* and *The Cocoanuts* (1925–1926) with the Marx Brothers. They appeared in early sound films including *The Hollywood Revue of 1929*, where they performed "Singin' in the Rain" with Cliff Edwards, and *King of Jazz* (1930). Brox later worked as a costume designer on *The Big Lift* (1950).

She was married to producer William Perlberg and, from 1969, to songwriter Jimmy Van Heusen. Brox died in 1999.
