## Biography

Boyd Stockman (born Ira D. Boyd Stockman) was an American actor and stuntman. He appeared in numerous Western films and television series from the mid-1940s to the mid-1970s, often in supporting roles or as a stunt performer, and was frequently cast as a stagecoach driver or henchman owing to his expertise as a horseman.

His credited film roles include Spud Oxton in *The Man from Laramie* (1955). He also appeared in *Night Passage* (1957), *3:10 to Yuma* (1957), *Ride Lonesome* (1959), *The Hanging Tree* (1959) and *The Shakiest Gun in the West* (1968), among others, many uncredited. On television he had recurring work in series such as *The Adventures of Kit Carson* and guest appearances in *Gunsmoke*, *The Virginian*, *Laramie* and *Tales of Wells Fargo*.

Stockman was born on 12 February 1916 in New Mexico and died on 10 March 1998 in Silver City, New Mexico.
