He is best known for his recurring role as Buddy Garrity in the series *Friday Night Lights* (2006–2011). Other notable credits include appearances in the films *Silverado* (1985), *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre* (2003), *Hancock* (2008), *Deepwater Horizon* (2016) and *Land* (2021), and television series such as *Veep*, *Justified*, *Parks and Recreation*, *The Leftovers* and *The Last of Us* (2023) as Mr. Adler.
