## Biography

Brent Buell is an actor, playwright, producer and director. For ten years he directed theatre in New York's maximum-security prisons, staging works from John Steinbeck's *Of Mice and Men* to original prisoner plays. His comedy *Breakin' the Mummy's Code* premiered inside Sing Sing Correctional Facility in 2005 and was the subject of an Esquire feature; the production inspired the 2024 film *Sing Sing*, in which Buell is portrayed by Paul Raci and which he co-produced.

Buell has written and directed other plays and short films, and appeared in featured roles in *Grand Opening* and *Al Quarem*. He is the author of novels including the political parody *Rapturous*.
