## Biography

Brent Dawes is a South African director and writer of animated films and television series. He has worked extensively with Sunrise Animation Studios in Cape Town as creative lead on the *Jungle Beat* franchise.

Dawes directed and wrote *Jungle Beat: The Movie* (2020). He co-directed *David* (2025) with Phil Cunningham and co-wrote the screenplay with Cunningham, Kyle Portbury and Sam Wilson. The biblical animated musical was produced by Sunrise Animation Studios and distributed by Angel Studios.
