Brian Burns is an American screenwriter and producer. Born on Long Island, New York, he began his career in political journalism in Washington, D.C., working as a copy writer and segment producer for WTTG's Fox Morning News, covering Capitol Hill and the Clinton White House.

With his brother Edward Burns he created the television series *That's Life* (1998) and *The Fighting Fitzgeralds* (2001). In 2002 he wrote and directed the feature film *You Stupid Man*. Burns served as a writer and supervising producer on the HBO series *Entourage* (2004), contributing seven episodes and receiving two Primetime Emmy nominations. He later became executive producer and a writer on the CBS series *Blue Bloods* (2010), penning dozens of episodes. His feature credits include the screenplays for *Daddy's Home* (2015) and *Daddy's Home 2* (2017).
