## Biography

Brian Tanen is a television writer and producer. He graduated from Yale College and received an MFA from the NYU Tisch Department of Dramatic Writing. Before working in television, he was a playwright and won the Kennedy Center’s John Cauble Prize for his one-act play *The Man of Infinite Sadness*.

Tanen began his television career as a writer on *Ugly Betty* (2006) and *Grey's Anatomy* (2005), where he also served as executive story editor. He went on to write for *Desperate Housewives* (2004), *Devious Maids* (2013), *Atypical* (2017) and *Love, Victor* (2020), serving as executive producer or co-showrunner on several of these series. He created the ABC series *Grand Hotel* (2019).
