## Biography

Bruce A. Block is an American film producer, visual consultant and author. He has produced or co-produced several feature films, including *Father of the Bride* (1991), *The Parent Trap* (1998), *What Women Want* (2000), *Something's Gotta Give* (2003) and *The Holiday* (2006).

Block began his career directing commercials and corporate films, and later worked as a visual consultant on titles such as *Stuart Little* (1999) and *Spanglish* (2004). He is the author of *The Visual Story*, first published in 2001 with revised editions in 2007 and 2020. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the USC School of Cinematic Arts, he is a tenured professor at USC, where he holds the Sergei Eisenstein Endowed Chair in Cinematic Design.
