## Biography

Bruce Harwood is a Canadian character actor born on 29 April 1963 in North Vancouver, British Columbia. He is best known for portraying John Fitzgerald Byers, one of the Lone Gunmen, in the television series *The X-Files* (1994–2002, with a return in 2016), the 1998 feature film *The X-Files*, and the spin-off series *The Lone Gunmen* (2001).

Harwood graduated with a degree in Theatre Performance from the University of British Columbia in 1986 and began acting professionally the following year. He is a founding member of the Vancouver Shakespeare festival Bard on the Beach. His other television credits include roles in *MacGyver*, *The Outer Limits*, *Stargate SG-1*, *Smallville* and *Supernatural*.
