Burt Brinckerhoff is an American actor, director and producer. Born on 25 October 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he began his career as an actor and received a Tony Award nomination for his role in the Broadway production of *Cactus Flower* (1965–1968).

He later became a prolific television director. His credits include multiple episodes of *Lou Grant* (for which he received three consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations), *Moonlighting* (1985), *Cagney & Lacey* (1982), *ALF*, *Remington Steele*, *Beverly Hills, 90210*, *Matlock* and *7th Heaven*, directing 27 episodes of the latter from 1996 to 2002. He retired in 2002.
