He was born on 18 July 1930 and died on 24 May 2016. He played Cato Fong, the manservant of Inspector Clouseau, in seven films of the Pink Panther series, beginning with *A Shot in the Dark* (1964) and including *The Return of the Pink Panther* (1975), *The Pink Panther Strikes Again* (1976), *Revenge of the Pink Panther* (1978), *Trail of the Pink Panther* (1982), *Curse of the Pink Panther* (1983) and *Son of the Pink Panther* (1993). Other film roles included Mr Ling in *Goldfinger* (1964), appearances in *You Only Live Twice* (1967) and *Casino Royale* (1967), Mr Chen in *Empire of the Sun* (1987) and General Lu Soong in *Air America* (1990). On television, Kwouk appeared in *Doctor Who* (1963), as Major Yamauchi in *Tenko* and as Entwistle in *Last of the Summer Wine*.
