## Biography

Burton Miller (17 January 1926 – 5 March 1982) was an American costume designer. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he trained at the Carnegie Institute of Technology and the Parsons School of Design. From 1961 until his death he worked at Universal Studios, designing costumes for both film and television.

His film credits include *The Front Page* (1974), *Earthquake* (1974), *Swashbuckler* (1976), *Airport '77* (1977), *Damien: Omen II* (1978), *The Concorde... Airport '79* (1979) and *The Nude Bomb* (1980). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design for *Airport '77*, shared with Edith Head. Miller also designed for numerous television series, including *Columbo*, *McCloud* and *The Six Million Dollar Man*, and won Fashion Foundation Awards for television work in 1970 and 1975.
