## Biography

Carl Bradshaw is a Jamaican actor and film producer. He grew up in the Standpipe area of Kingston and was educated at Excelsior High School. A former track athlete who represented Jamaica in the 400 metres at the 1968 Central American and Caribbean Games, he later served as Head of Physical Education at the school.

Bradshaw began his acting career after being cast as Jose in Perry Henzell's *The Harder They Come* (1972), having initially joined the production as an extra. He has since appeared in many Jamaican films, including *Smile Orange* (1976), *Countryman* (1982) and *Dancehall Queen* (1997), as well as international productions such as *Club Paradise* (1986) and *The Mighty Quinn* (1989). He has also worked as a producer on several films.

In 2017, Bradshaw was awarded the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican government.
