Carl Kress is an American film editor. He is the son of editor and director Harold F. Kress.

Kress shared the Academy Award for Best Film Editing with his father for their work on *The Towering Inferno* (1974). His other editing credits include *Meteor* (1979), *Hopscotch* (1980), *Looker* (1981), *Stroker Ace* (1983), *Cannonball Run II* (1984), *Rad* (1986), *Bloodsport* (1988) and *Wedlock* (1991).

He was born on 3 February 1937 in Los Angeles and died on 11 May 2012.
