## Biography

Carl Sautter (29 April 1948 – 23 February 1993) was a British-born television writer. A graduate of Pomona College, he began his career in urban planning before turning to screenwriting. His early credits included episodes of the series Trapper John, M.D.

Sautter wrote for Moonlighting from 1985 to 1986, serving as story editor and contributing to multiple episodes, including co-writing "The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice" with Debra Frank. He later wrote an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 and contributed additional dialogue to Jetsons: The Movie (1990). He also worked as writer and story advisor on the Italian series Lucky Luke (1992) and published the book How to Sell Your Screenplay in 1988.

Sautter received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series in 1986 for his work on Moonlighting.
