## Biography

Carl Winston was a writer and assistant director active in German and American cinema from the late 1920s onwards. He is credited with the English dialogue adaptation for *The Blue Angel* (1930), directed by Josef von Sternberg.

His other writing credits include the German films *Heiße Ernte* (1956) and *Frauen sind für die Liebe da* (1957). He also worked as an assistant director on titles such as *Murder for Sale* (1930), *The Love Waltz* (1930) and *Her Grace Commands* (1931), and as a production manager on *A Blonde Dream* (1932).
