## Biography

Carla Ching is an American playwright and television writer. A native of Los Angeles, she holds a BA from Vassar College and an MFA from the New School for Drama. She began writing and performing with the pan-Asian collective Peeling at the Asian American Writers Workshop and has had plays produced by companies including the Atlantic Theater Company, South Coast Repertory and Ma-Yi Theater Company. Her work includes *Nomad Motel*, *Fast Company* (winner of the Edgerton New American Play Award) and *The Two Kids That Blow Shit Up*.

On television she has written for *Graceland* (2013), *Fear the Walking Dead*, *I Love Dick* (2016), *The First* (2018), *Preacher* (2016) and *Home Before Dark* (2020). She contributed to and served as co-executive producer on the 2024 series *Mr. & Mrs. Smith*. Ching is a founding member of The Kilroys, a member of New Dramatists and former artistic director of 2g. In 2021 she shared the Horton Foote Playwriting Award from the Dramatists Guild.
